She Screams In Silence

Well she's finally finished!!!

I thought i'd take a little break from the Orphanage series to finish this little lady that i started a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to bring back the madness of my brush/splatter work and try and refine it a bit.

This was also an exercise in background detail for me. Up 'til now i've always struggled with the surrounding environment so i really wanted to focus on that with this piece. Having said that though, i think that's possibly the coolest hand i've ever drawn...

Background was done in brush and ink and the girl was done with fine liners. I wanted her to come off a lot cleaner and pure, compared to her surrounds. I also eliminated all greys in this piece. It's black & white or nothin!!!

This is a character i will be using in an upcoming story (the title may ring a bell with a couple of you!!)... Stay tuned... and let me know what you think!!!

Anywho, it's 3.30am and i think i've done myself an injury to my wrist in finishing this... Ahhh... she was worth it...
